The Phantom of the Opera celebrates 25 years on the stage

It's a shifting target. It's exhilarating. It's frightening. Additionally, you may be shocked at how many of the show's songs you already know. They've been woven into the fabric of our society, a monument to Sir Lloyd Webber's enormous songwriting ability. Music of the Night's title tune, as well as the remainder of the music, will send chills down your spine, as will the rest of the soundtrack, which gave rise to the all-time best-selling cast album.

I truly like this film, which I own on DVD and have given as gifts to friends:) it was my first genuine exposure to the 'Phantom of the Opera' narrative, which I first watched on December 25, 2004. I still adore the 'Phantom of the Opera' story and have found several additional adaptations...

I believe that the acting in the film was excellent, that the singing was excellent (although Michael Crawford's rendition of 'Music of the Night' is my favorite, Gerard Butler did an excellent job as well: his acting and singing were both excellent, particularly on 'Point of No Return'...oh, and tomorrow is his birthday, so happy birthday to him)...that the scenery and special effects are also excellent, in my opinion. Many thanks to ALW and JS for making this lovely film:) Additionally, this film made me want to visit the stage performance, which I plan to do eventually.

In a tragic love tale, he exposes himself to Christine, who witnesses his ugly true personality. What follows is the fundamental upheaval of human emotions and drama. Set against the grandiose stage of the Paris Opera House, it serves as the ideal setting for iconic melodies such as âThe Music of the Night,âAll I Ask Of You, and âThe Phantom of the Opera. It's a narrative that appeals to the primal human need to be loved.

We were in the stalls this time since the previous time we visited, we were just under the chandelier, which was incredible. This night, we were seated a bit farther back but still had excellent views of the new chandelier. Although I loved it, the new cast and set alterations did not evoke the expected reaction and depth of emotion.

Meg Giry - Christine's daughter and friend who discovers her peculiar relationship with the 'Angel of Music'.

Carlotta - The Paris Opera House's 'Prima Donna' who is enraged by Christine's meteoric climb to fame. After failing to complete 'Think of Me,' she threatens to quit the group and comes face to face with the Phantom on stage.

History Her Majesty's Theatre is located on one of the city's oldest locations. The theatre, which opened in 1705 but was restored and refurbished twice, was a popular venue for Italian operas. Throughout the nineteenth century, classics such as Mozart's The Magic Flute (1811), Beethoven's Fidelio (1851), and Wagner's The Ring were performed (1882). The existing structure on the site debuted in 1897, hosting early plays of Pygmalion and Chu Chin Chow (1916). Following its hiatus between World Wars I and II, Her Majesty's Theatre reopened with huge musicals such as West Side Story (1958) and the London premiere of Fiddler on the Roof (1967), which lasted for an amazing 2,000 performances.

"Phantom is supreme! It is as vibrant and magnificent as ever. Andrew Lloyd Webber's score elicits an emotional response unlike nearly any other in the last two decades. I have to raise my hat to The Phantom of the Opera for aging wonderfully." "Phantom continues to deliver! By sheer inventiveness, emotional power, and theatrical brilliance, the venerable blockbuster continues to outperform virtually all of the contemporary Broadway shippersnappers. The glitter of well polished expertise remains in Maria Bjornson's spectacular gothic décor and Harold Prince's fanciful staging."

The voice and orchestra are magnificent; the sentence is astounding. The story, on the other hand, was very difficult to follow, had an effect on the whole house, and had me speechless for the entire episode, save for the moment when a puppet was worf over the B14hne, which was first amusing. The employees seem to be untrustworthy, but I provide them the benefit of doubt, since dealing with people may be a difficult task. Unfortunately, there was a man who was ttig in the lower circle as a place holder,'shh' people (who were fundamentally unheard) who were very ablenking and candid in all our group and schien as all nerves. If you are interested in opera and do not mind that the action is not shown in its entirety, I would recommend it, but personally, I would rather spend no more than 60 minutes on a Schlummert.

Our selection of the finest new plays, shows, and musicals to book in London's theatres in 2022Touch wood, but there is every reason to believe that 2022 will be the first year since 2019 that London's theatres have not been forced to shut en masse due to the worldwide epidemic. We are not yet out of the woods, but theatre survived 2020 and 2021 and shows no signs of abatement. With the least bit of caution, let us look forward to London theatre in 2022, when the plays, musicals, and other fine things weâve become used to will mostly return to their former selves.

The sections when numerous singers sang various songs simultaneously were a mess, and I knew that the Phantom 'virgin' I was accompanying would have had no idea what was going on. I'm not sure whether it was a matter of time or a production/sound problem, but these songs were awful. Although she is an amazing singer/actor, I couldn't 'understand' Carlotta's choice of actress. It felt strange casting an aggressive opera singer in such a cute petite soprano.
