As is the case with most other wine areas, excellent wines attract wonderful restaurants, and the Valley is no exception, having dozens of them as well as several good bed & breakfasts. If you're looking for a break from pinot tasting, day outings from the Willamette Valley include the Oregon coast, the stunning Silver Falls State Park, Portland, Oregon, and the Columbia Gorge River. Alternatively, spend the day visiting Evergreen Aviation Museum in McMinnville, one of the world's top six aviation museums.

A brief overview of Oregon's wine industry

Oregon, a state in the United States, has developed a worldwide reputation for its wine production, coming in fourth place after California, Washington, and New York. Oregon has many distinct growing zones inside its boundaries that are ideal for grape growth; other regions straddle the state's border with Washington and Idaho. Winemaking stretches all the way back to the 1840s during pioneer times, with commercial production commencing in the 1960s.

Wine, Beer, and Food Expertly Crafted

The excellent soil of the Willamette Valley is not only used for cultivating wine grapes. Additionally, this same soil provides delectable items that complement the remainder of the meal. Hops cultivated in the area and state are utilized in craft brewers. They are cultivated on-site at Agrarian Ales, farm-to-keg manner. The valley is home to four species of white and black truffles, which are honored yearly during the Oregon Truffle Festival. At the Joel Palmer House Restaurant, dinner plates are adorned with truffles and wild-foraged fungus; Chef Chris Czarnecki personally forages for mushrooms and incorporates them liberally into his menu. Fill your reusable bags with fresh vegetables, herbs, and meats at one of your local farmers' markets, or visit the farm directly to experience the food in its natural state.
